Week of September 20th - 27th | Strongsville Week

Copley XC Weekly Update

September 21–27, 2026 • Strongsville Invitational

Be Excellent in the Process
You don't become excellent on race day.
Race day reveals how excellent you've been in the process.

All:

I recently read a really good article on “10 Things I Wish I Knew as a High School Runner,” and I thought there were some excellent takeaways for any high school runner looking to continue to grow and excel in our sport.

Running is about so much more than workouts, mileage, and race times. The habits you build, the way you approach your teammates, how you recover, and the mindset you bring every day all play a role in the athlete you become.

I’ve pulled together some of my favorite highlights from the article in the graphics included with this post.

Take a few minutes to read through them. There are some great lessons here — whether you’re a freshman just getting started or a senior preparing for what comes next.
